Find Your Balance!

Image
Life is an act of balance, isn't it? We balance work and relationships, follow our goals, make sacrifices, manage our emotions, and make difficult choices. I guess this is enough to make even the most skilled acrobat wince. But amidst the chaos, there's a quiet magic to be found, the art of finding balance. Yesterday, I was catching up with a friend and we were discussing the same, constant tightrope walks of life. It’s true, isn’t it? We keep on swaying between being optimist and realist, ambitious and caring about ourselves, our heart’s heady whispers, and our mind’s grounded logic. We tussle with being kind and assertive, calm, and expressive. It's enough to give anyone whiplash! But here is the thing, perfect balance is a myth. It is not about never tripping from one side to the other. It is more about learning to gracefully recover when we do get off balance. It is about understanding that life is a constant dance, a beautiful, messy tango between our various rol...

Paradox of Hypocrisy

Image
Have you ever caught yourself advocating for healthy eating while reaching for that extra slice of cake? Or passionately defending environmentalism while scrolling through fast fashion catalogs on your phone? We've all been there, contradicting our beliefs and occasionally tumbling into the awkward pit of "hypocrisy." But before we label ourselves moral misfits, let's take a deeper look. Is all contradiction truly hypocrisy, or is it simply crazy life? Unmasking the Many Faces of Contradiction: A. Situational Hypocrisy: Sometimes, certain social settings demand a little diplomatic approach. To avoid unnecessary friction, we might soften our stance, opting for harmony over heated debates. Is this truly hypocrisy, or simply the art of viewing diverse perspectives? B. Evolutionary Hypocrisy: As we gather experiences, like a ripe fruit on the vine of life, our perspectives ripen too. Beliefs once held dear might soften, or even crumble in the face of new information an...

From Gloom to Bloom: Nurturing a positive mindset

Image
Six months ago, as I reflect on my memories, I find myself navigating the waters of negativity as the captain of a ship dedicated to finding flaws and drawbacks. My instinct was to extract ten negative points, all in the name of preparing myself for the worst in every situation. My rationale was that if something good were to happen, it required no preparation, but what if adversity struck? I wanted to be perpetually prepared. However, this constant preparation for adversity began to take a toll on my mental well-being. I found myself immersed in a sea of negative thoughts, a toxicity that slowly poisoned my outlook on life. It became increasingly challenging for me to strike a balance, as this excessive negativity hindered my happiness. I realized that my mindset, rooted in the belief that overly obsessing over the worst would somehow prevent it from happening. Life, as I discovered through subsequent experiences, proved this theory of mine to be completely wrong. Then, a new chapter ...

Self Love: Nurturing Love Within

Image
In a world where questions about romantic love often take center stage, there's one crucial inquiry that often goes overlooked: "Do I love myself?" Self-love, though a well-known concept, remains vastly underrated. How often do we look in the mirror and say, "I love you, you're looking gorgeous today"? The answer is likely infrequent, and it's time we change that. The pervasive algorithms of today's world contribute to insecurities about ourselves and relationships, yet they rarely prompt us to foster a healthy relationship with ourselves first and foremost. How can you even expect anyone else to love the parts of you that you have never loved yourself? Trust me when you start loving all the parts of yourself that 'you' think are ugly you will see everybody accepting it too.  Do you realize it's not about what others think of you but how you think others think of you?  Self-love only shifts this perspective of yours and once your own pers...

Self-Awareness: Exploring the Inner Realm

Image
I n a world buzzing with notifications, tweets, and breaking news, staying on top of what's happening in the 'outer' realm is easy. But hey, what about the universe inside? You know, that mysterious inner world that's exclusively ours, packed with thoughts, feelings, and a few embarrassing memories we'd rather forget. It's the ultimate DIY project that no one else really gets to witness, except, us. Let's spill the tea on why self-awareness is the unsung hero we need but often ignore in our daily hustle.  First of all, let's be aware of what self-awareness is.  It goes beyond merely knowing that something isn't quite right or acknowledging childhood traumas; it takes us to sit down with our inner selves, confronting the 'not-so-pretty' thoughts we'd rather ignore . "Self-awareness is the ability to focus on yourself and how your actions, thoughts, or emotions do or don't align with your internal standards and values. If you'r...

It's always a choice!

Embarking on the college journey was a dream come true a chance to live independently, make decisions, have this blank slate to fill in, and embrace the unknown. Initially, I went with the flow trying to 'fit in'.College is so different from school, the amount of diversity you get here is insane. I saw myself in a rut. Eating unhealthy, scrolling for hours, not being disciplined, bad sleep schedule, and all the things that should not be done. However, the initial months revealed a stark reality: going with the flow wasn't leading to the healthy, fulfilling life I craved. In October, after a visit home, I decided it was time for a different path. No more going with the crowd I started making better choices. Healthier living, hitting the gym, learning new skills, connecting with people, and revisiting self-help books became my daily routine. Almost two months later, the change is incredible. Feeling good about myself and being proud of my progress is a feeling I wouldn'...
